Honourable Odi Omagu, the All Progressives Congress Chieftain and businessman has lauded Senator Prince Bassey Otu , the governor of Cross River State for appointing Senator Stephen Odey, former State Universal Primary Education Board Chairman as a Commissioner.

Speaking to newsmen on Friday in Calabar, Hon Omagu said the appointment of Odey is well deserved and a round peg in a round hole and asserted Odey will add value to the cabinet by delivering on whatever mandate assigned him as Commissioner.

He stressed that “Dr Odey has vast experience having served as Chairman SUBEB where he set enviable records in the improvement of elementary education through infrastructural improvement, enhancement of teachers welfare and commitment which significantly impacted on the children’s learning abilities”.

He said the Advanced Teachers Training Institute at Biase and the Canadian Special School at Kakum in Obudu have the finger print of Senator Odey and would replicate same and more as Commissioner.

“His willingness to work in the state after serving as Senator shows his humility and dedication to the state which is the reason he could muster dedicated followership of his people which culminated in the massive harvest of close to 6000 thousand votes for our great party in just one ward during the recent election.

“More importantly is the fact that his people are so dedicated to him such that they are ready to reign in more votes to booster Governor Otu’s second term election”.

Hon Omagu reckoned that Senator Odey has emerged as the clear political rallying point of northern Cross River State by his sterling leadership qualities.

He assured the Governor of the support of his followers to the policies, programmes and projects of the Otu administration emphasising that with the direction the administration is going , the state would be better and greater in the coming years.

He congratulated all others who made the list as Commissioners and prayed God to lead them as they serve the state. Odey as Commissioner
