Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr. Usani Uguru Usani on Friday stated that there’s a seeming generation of alliances in Cross River State to recruit innocent gullibles to invade his peaceful space even as he has kept low on political issues and poses no threat to no one.
In a statement entitled: “Salient Philosophical Maxims” and published on the Verdict Platform, Usani stressed that the insinuations of the political forecasters about his intentions are anchored on the need to check what they consider as schemes to prepare his way into the 2027 contest.
The former APC Chieftain who addressed those plotting the scheme as friends noted that they’re contemplating “to use the same methods which, in their calculation, dislodged me by blackmail, to carry out their gospel of hate to perceived quarters of favourable disposition toward me”
“to hire crowds to carry out demonstrations against my name under perceived recognition that will be accorded me. To make publications (as usual) against my person. To initiate further attacks of any nature on me, all in the name of politics”
According to him “Different people hold different conceptions of politics. To some, it is a vocation. To others, it is a quest for space to offer service. Even others more, it is an indispensable lifeline for which they can kill, as they have been doing”.
Meanwhile, the Nko-born politician avers that he’s not moved by the actions of haters to respond in like forms nor is he persuaded to make his political decisions based on what material content he gains or ego-stricken notions.
He pontificated that he has never achieved anything on his own, safe the grand mercy of God, by grace”
On a call to vet motive before action, Pastor Usani urged them to recall their commitment and efforts to nurturing opposition in Cross River, and how they were looked upon like pariah committees that are today enjoyed by those who know nothing of the toiling and labour.
He implores people not to be swayed by praise singers while advising all to spare their time and breath to enjoy what they have achieved and take their minds off him for he is enjoying his quiet space which is interpreted as isolation, noting that his path is far from the direction they’re thinking, for, the test of human mind rationality is in the sustenance of one’s conviction, he concluded.
