The United Nations Police Community (UN-POLAC), Cross River State Chapter, has announced plans to host its annual International Peace Event in Calabar on Tuesday, 23rd September 2025.
The event, which will be held under the theme “Promoting Peace and Community Development”, is expected to draw members, stakeholders, and well-wishers in a collective effort to foster harmony and sustainable growth in the state.
Speaking ahead of the gathering, the State Director of UN-POLAC, Barr. Dr Victor Edim, expressed deep gratitude to members of the organisation for their tireless contributions. He described their dedication to the ideals of peace and service as both inspiring and essential for the success of the forthcoming event.
“Your efforts in promoting peace and community development are truly commendable. I am confident that, together, we will make this year’s event both memorable and impactful,” Dr Edim said.
The UN-POLAC State Media Director, Amb. Bayor Esuku, who formally conveyed the announcement, called on members and peace advocates to turn out in large numbers, adding that the event provides an opportunity to reaffirm commitment to peaceful coexistence.
The International Peace Event has, over the years, served as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and advocacy, with a focus on strengthening communal bonds and building a culture of peace across Cross River State and beyond.
