FG UNVEILS YOUTH CONFERENCE WEBSITE TO DRIVE NATIONAL ENGAGEMENT.
Abuja, Nigeria – In a bold move to deepen youth participation in national development, the Federal Government has officially launched a dedicated website for the upcoming National Youth Conference, slated to hold later this year. The announcement, made on 16 June 2025, signifies a landmark step in realising the government’s renewed commitment to youth empowerment, inclusion, and policy innovation.
The website: nationalyouthconfab.gov.ng is designed as an all-encompassing platform providing easy access to key information, registration portals, updates, and real-time interactions for young Nigerians at home and in the diaspora. With a user-friendly interface optimised for accessibility, the site is set to become a digital bridge between the nation’s youth and the heart of policymaking.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony held in his office in Abuja, the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, described the launch as a strategic milestone in building an inclusive national agenda driven by young people. He outlined that the conference would unfold through a multi-tiered participatory process, ranging from diaspora virtual engagements and grassroots consultations at the constituency level to zonal summits and a grand national convergence in the capital.
“This Youth Confab will produce youth-informed, youth-approved, and youth-led solutions under six bold thematic pillars,” Comrade Olawande said. “These include: Governance, leadership, and political participation; Economic transformation, entrepreneurship, and job creation; Education and skills for the future; Technology, innovation, and digital transformation; Climate change and energy transition; and Social inclusion and security.”
He further reiterated that the conference would be grounded in the core values of transparency, inclusivity, respect, and innovation, urging all Nigerian youth to shift “from protest to policy, problems to solutions, and challenges to progress.”
Also speaking at the event, Olubunmi Olusanya, Chairman of the National Planning Committee and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, emphasised the significance of the digital platform, calling it “a strategic tool that ensures no young Nigerian is left behind.”
“This is not just a website; it is the digital nerve centre of a nationwide movement that amplifies youthful ideas and actions,” Olusanya said. “It allows seamless delegate registration, promotes wide-ranging virtual consultations, and provides a reliable stream of conference information and engagement.”
He lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for endorsing the initiative and praised Minister Olawande’s visionary leadership in aligning youth potential with national priorities.
The National Youth Conference is expected to draw broad participation from the 360 Federal Constituencies and the Nigerian diaspora, serving as a transformative platform to chart a new course for youth engagement and policy co-creation.
Omolara Esan, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, confirmed that all preparatory and implementation frameworks will be made accessible on the new portal in the coming weeks.
With this launch, the Federal Government signals a new era where young voices are not only heard but are instrumental in shaping Nigeria’s future.
