ETUNG PARAMOUNT RULER, HRM NTUFAM ANTHONY NTUI ETTA MOVES TO RESTORE CORE TRADITIONAL VALUES.
The paramount Ruler of Etung, His Royal Majesty, Ntufam Anthony Ntui Etta, the Second,has asked chiefs and town council leaders across the communities in Etung to work towards reviving the extinct culture which served as the identity of the Ejagham people.
The royal made the calls in the security meetings he with traditional councils, town councils, women and youth councils across clans of the local and reiterated his determination to get rid of infractions that have threatened the veritable values that define the traditions and security of Etung.
Ntufam Etta the Second, said stealing, drugs abuse, shooting of guns, fighting, Cultism and gangsterism were not common in their communities stressing that ancestors were known for integrity,hard work and decent live styles .
According to him, the new Etung would be governed by the communique that has been agreed from the week-long security meetings of the chiefs, town councils executive, critical stakeholders and emphasized that red flags highlighted earlier like stealing, drugs, Cultism, sleeping with someone’s wife and shooting were banned with heavy sanctions on defaulters.
Other members of his entourage who talked on other subjects like the Officer in-charge of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mr Musaji Dabai explained that drugs have caused damage to many people, adding the NDLEA in Etung will begin a search arrest to crack down on illicit drug addict and drug bunk to clean up Etung communities.
Also speaking at Ajassor, Mkpot, Nsofang, Effraya,Abia, Etara,Ekimaya, Agbokim Water Falls,Egukatai, other clans and villages, the Clan Head of Ekiem, His Royal Highness Malloy Erim Isong , advised his colleagues and village heads to conduct themselves with respect and dignity so that subjects will accord their due honour.
HRH Isong also urged them to dress responsibly and in line with their dress code not undermining numbers of beads, cap and other regalia including the cresting of vehicle.
He said Clan heads and village heads must not paste the state and national flags in their cars while cresting is for Paramount Ruler and clan heads only.
Other in attendance in the various meetings are the the DSS Officer Etung – Caesar Etonye, HRH Augustine Achombi Ndifon, Divisional Crime Officer Ikom,SP Michael Ogar, Secretary Traditional Rulers Council Etung among others.
