OBANLIKU LOCAL GOVT. CHAIRMAN, HON. SUNNY AYANG EMBARKS ON INSPECTION OF COUNCIL FACILITIES.
In a significant move towards achieving the goals of his administration, the Executive Chairman of Obanliku, Hon. Sunny Ayang, has embarked on an inspection tour of a health facility located in Utanga Ward.
The visit, which was aimed at assessing the uncompleted facility and identifying areas of rehabilitation, marks his first tour of facilities outside the council.
Speaking during the tour, Hon. Sunny assured the Utanga people of his determination to ensure the immediate completion and commissioning of the facility. He noted that when commissioned, the health facility will serve as a referral hospital for health centers around Utanga, Becheve, and other neighboring communities. The Chairman further appreciated Utanga people for securing the facility and ensuring no theft was recorded while declaring the immediate inclusion of the volunteer security men in the local government’s casual staff payroll.
During the inspection, Hon. Sunny Ayang noted several areas that require immediate attention, including the clearing of bushes in the facility, the building of a generator’s house, and the renovation of the entire facility, amongst others.
“Today’s unscheduled visit is a prompt response to the request made by my Supervisor for Health, drawing my attention to a befitting health facility facilitated by the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria ( ALGON) through the Primary Health Care Development Agency ( PHCDA), but abandoned without being completed and put to use. I will remain committed to transforming Obanliku by ensuring the initiation of new projects and completing meaningful uncompleted projects”, Hon. Sunny stated.
A highlight of the visit was the outpour of accolades and a warm reception by the chiefs and stakeholders of Utanga ward, including HRH Suhumba and Hon. Sabastine Taku to the Executive Chairman and his team.
In the Chairman’s entourage were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Glory Awowoh, Secretary of Council, Dr. Joseph Agba, Supervisor for Health, Mr. Godwin Afu, Leader of Council, Hon. Sunday Elam; Obanliku Community Relation Officer, Chief Linus Afen, Internal Auditor, Mr. Innocent Achia, amongst others.
