…IT’S NOT UHURU FOR JULIUS ABURE AFTER YESTERDAY’S ABUJA HIGH COURT VERDICT AGAINST INEC…
The leadership of the Labour Party (LP) National Caretaker Committee headed by Senator Nenadi Usman, Ph.D., and Senator Darlington Nwokocha, National Secretary met with their Excellencies, Peter Obi CON and Dr. Alex Otti, Abia State Governor after the Abuja High Court verdict yesterday and have agreed to join as party in the case to appeal the judgement accordingly.
It may interest party members and Nigerians to know that the case actually preceded the formation of the Caretaker Committee, but Caretaker Committee have decided to do the needful. Hence to challenge the judgement in the interest of justice in line with the Party Constitution.
On this note, Senator Nenadi Usman, Ph.D. appeal to party members to remain calm, maintain peace as they continue on their mission to reconcile the party and making sure that the right things are done to return the party on track.
This clarification has become necessary, hence certain mischievous persons and beneficiaries from the old order have taken to social media to misinform and misinterpret the position of the law to cause confusion amongst our members, especially those aspiring to run for the Local Government Council Election and the public to create division within the Labour Party.
The High Court Judgement did not in anyway invalidate the authenticity of National Caretaker Committee led by Senator Nenadi Usman, Ph.D. and States Interim Leadership across the country that came into effect on 4th September, 2024 after the Umuahia enlarged stakeholders meeting.
INEC position on the Nnewi’s purported convention is right and did not violate any instant laws; but as Nigerians we know how justice are sometimes bought and as Party, we will not fold our arms and allow trampling on our Party constitution by the forth columnist.
We want to put CROSIEC on notice that they should allow the status quo remain until our appeal is decided and not give any illegality to the Abure’s and Ogar Osim’s expired NEC and SEC.
And like I have warned in our numerous press releases, “anyone relating with Ogar Osim is doing that at their peril in Cross River State Chapter of the Labour Party.”
As a Party, we remain resolute, united and committed to an egalitarian society were justice, peace and equality reign supreme; as we will not be distracted by nefarious elements with no conscience and integrity; hence our mission is clear: “social justice and equal opportunity for all.”
Signed:
Comrade Amawu Cletus Albert Amawu.
State Publicity Secretary, Interim Committee, Labour Party, Cross River State.
