The leading Aspirant of APC in Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State, and by the grace of God, the incoming chairman, Mr. Babington UNUNG congratulates the Executive Governor of Cross River State, HE Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu on the victory of APC at the just concluded Edo State governorship election which saw the APC candidate, Sen. Monday Okpebholo emerged winner.
He stated that the governor, his colleagues and the National leadership of the party were behind the victory of the governor elect.
He also recalled that this was not the first Party assignment that Gov. Bassey Otu has discharged remarkably. He recalled how His Excellency led APC to Imo and delivered Gov. Hope Uzodima of Imo State, being one of the off circle elections.
He went further to assert that His Excellency is surely going to reenact the same feat in the coming local government election in cross River State.
Mr Unung said he has no shadow of doubt that Sweet Prince’s Season of Sweetness will bring the APC good fortunes in the polls in the entire 18 LGAs of Cross River State; right from the hills of Obanliku to the creeks Bakassi.
Babs as he is fondly called, has garner more support on the streets of Obanliku and beyond due to his simplicity, accessibility and generosity.
He used the opportunity to assure his supporters while toasting to the APC victory in his JOEVIN SPOT rendezvous Sankwala, saying, “APC victory anywhere is our victory and more so that it was the birth of a second APC State in South South Nigeria, and our own Sweet Prince was involved, then we deserve to kiss a drink and toast to even our own aspiration too.”
He assured his supporters of his preparedness to go all the way of the journey to become the Chairman of Obanliku LGA. According to him, “I am prepared and well balanced for the task ahead even to take on the job of Chairman which I aspire. My hope is in God and all of you. I hold the belief that we will get things right when the time comes to choose and make the popular and right choice, because only the popular and right choice wins an election easily. I represent that popular and right choice because I know what we have devoted ourselves in doing for our communities over the years and my dreams for a better Obanliku. I thank God some of you are here to attest to that. For me, Edo state is a reminder. Zoning was respected and the popular candidate got the day…simple!”
In conclusion, he congratulates the Edo people for their ability to see beyond sentiments and destructive campaign that was waged against the APC and it’s reformative policies. He said they voted for a better future and urged Nigerians to endure a little while as things are going to surely change for the better.
