After an intriguing series of 8 town hall meetings over the last weekend with constituents across the 7 LGAs of Cross River South, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong took note of the agitations by women for more active involvement in empowerment initiatives. The Senator had promised that he had taken note of their concerns and would swing into action and bring smiles to the faces of the women of Cross River South.
Barely days after the town hall meeting, he kept to his promises by facilitating cash grants ranging from N100,000 to N200,000 to 685 women across the seven LGAs.
Beneficiaries include all ward women leaders, all LG women leaders as well as 600 other nominated female constituents from across the southern senatorial district.
The women took turns to thank the Senator for his rapid response barely days after identifying their demands.
The Senator who was ably represented by Hon. Oqua Edet Oqua appreciated the women and thanked them for their continued support.
