The Guru Innovation Hub earns an Award Of Excellence from the Cybersafe Foundation and the UK Government for an outstanding performance in the DigiGirls Training.

 

 

 

Last Friday, 8th of March 2024, the Cybersafe Foundation and the UK Government awarded The Guru Innovation Hub with the Excellence Award for their unwavering commitment and dedication to empowering girls and women in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria, through its transformative DigiGirls program.

 

The CyberSafe Award ceremony took place at The British High Commission situated at No 3 Oyinkan Abayomi Street, Ikoyi Lagos. In attendance were representatives of the Cyberspace Foundation, The UK Government, and notable members of the Tech ecosystem on site.

On the International Women’s Day celebration, The founder of the Guru Innovation Hub Mr. Oyo Effiom stated, “There’s no better way to celebrate International Women’s Day than to bring home an award from CyberSafe Foundation and the UK Government.

 

“This award is to show that The Guru Innovation Hub had the highest number of sign-ups for the DigiGirls training in Nigeria. We had over 700 girls and women who signed up for the training.

 

“Today, like every other day, we will give our all to the development of girls and women who are interested in learning technology.

 

“Thanks to my team in the hub that gave their all for the training of these young girls. I want to thank our Board for all their support.
