GOV OTU HONOURS 10 C’RIVER INDIGENES AFTER PUBLIC SERVICE ELEVATION.

Governor Bassey Edet Otu, of Cross River State yesterday at Transcorp Hotel Càlabar, honoured ten illustrious sons and daughters of Cross River State origin with award of honour for putting in thier very best in public service.

 

According to the state governor,the award is a way of giving recognition to recipients of the award on thier contributions made toward national development and as a way to encourage them to do more in thier places of responsibilities.

 

The awardees who are newly elevated public servants of the state origin were presented an award in recognition of their service to the country.

 

Those recognizes by the State Government include, Senator John Owan Enoh (Minister of Sports), Dr. Betta Edu (Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty alleviation) and Justice Jane Inyang (Justice of the Court of Appeal).

 

Others are Maj. Gen. EAP Undiandeye (Chief of Defense Intelligence), AIG Okon Effiong, AIG Echeng Echeng Eworo, AIG Paul Ojeka, AIG Patrick Edung, AIG Emmanuel Effion and AIG Susan Horsefall (Rtd).

 

Presenting the plaques to recipients of the award, state governor Senator Bassey Otu stated that it is a privilege. to be at the helm of affairs of the state when recipients of the award are elevated thanking the awardees for the level of impact brought to the e state.

 

In his words Otu said, “I’m privileged, humbled and highly elated to be at the helm of affairs in the state when these our illustrious sons were elevated and choose in their different fields of endeavour.

 

“They have impacted the states development agenda therefore no responsible government will downplay the importance of this distinguished human capital”, he said.

 

The state Chief Executive Officer charged the awardees to serve as role models for future awardees and called for unity among the various tribes in the state.

 

“To the honourees, their social responsibility each of you owe, is to serve as role models in terms of mentorship and provision of transformational leadership”.

 

Speaking on behalf of the recipients of the award the newly elevated justice of Court of Appeal, Justice Jane Essienawan Inyang, promised they would remain as good ambassadors of the state till the end of thier careers vowed not to let the state down in the course of discharging thier duties.
