Cross River State Commissioner for Agriculture and Irrigation Development, Hon. Johnson Ebokpo has commended the United States Agency for International Development, USAID, for its laudable ‘FEED THE FUTURE’ Nigeria Agribusiness Investment Activity programme in the State.
The Agric Boss gave the commendation in his opening remark when he flagged off a two-day training programme on ‘Policy Implementation Evaluation Tools and Capacity Improvement Plan,’ organized by the FEED THE FUTURE Nigeria Agribusiness Investment Activity, held recently in Calabar.
Hon. Ebokpo expressed appreciation for the agricultural policy and cooperative validation guidelines developed for the State as well as their support to 3, 555 farmers and agribusinesses in the State while seeking more collaborations with USAID to deliver prosperous dividends to the State.
The Commissioner maintained that the People’s First mantra of Governor Bassey Otu creates room for the people of Cross River State to be drivers of the administration’s Developmental agenda.
He welcomed participants and charged them to take the training very seriously as knowledge gained would help in the implementation of government agricultural policies and the overall growth of Cross River State.
To ensure the successful implementation of policies by improving implementation planning, training and outreach, institutional capacity, and strategic management. participants were trained on the various processes of policy implementation.
The training also covered policy implementation evaluation tools, policy implementation plans, capacity assessments, improvement plans, and assistance needs.
