The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt Hon. Peter Odey has assured the Muslim Community in the State of continued peaceful coexistence with their host.
Rt Hon.Odey gave the assurances in his office in Calabar when he received in audience the Hausa/ Fulani Community in the State led by the Seriki Hausa/Fulani and Head of Muslims, Alhaji Garuba Lawan and thanked them for their support during the last general elections while also assuring them that in due time, they will be called upon to contribute their quota to the development of the State.
In a remark on behalf of the Hausa/Fulani Muslim Community in the State, Alhaji Garuba Lawan congratulated Governor Bassey Edet Otu and Rt Hon. Peter ODEY on their election victories and urged him to remember them in inclusion into the Administration to contribute their quota in the State, especially in the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
The Seriki further posited that most of them were born and lived all their lives in the State, adding that they voted massively for the duo at the polls and have supported the administration since inception and should be considered for appointments.
Present during the visit were Alhaji Sani Baba Gombe, Sheik Abduqadir Bature, Major Moshood Abdiqadir, lmam Kabir Olowolayemo, and Alhaji Rasheed Olanrewaju Zubair.
