Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital Saturday stood still as people from different parts of the world thronged 29 Nkemba Street, off Abak Road in honour of Ingrace Talent Academy’s Business/Talent Conference tagged Akwa Ibom Got Talent.

The conference being its first edition drew experts, officials of government, entrepreneurs, youth advocates, students and participants from all works of life in a bid to synergise, learn, network and proffer solutions to the itching challenges of people, especially women and youths in the society.

The Academy with its clear vision of providing high-quality grooming for creative potentials, building model figures and moral and financial values to society is poised to preen, harness and inculcate the value of realising God’s given potential in people for professional, and industrial use.

Speaking on the sideline of the event, the Chairman and Chief Consultant of Ingrace Talent Academy, Amb. Dr John-Nteka Ekong Umoh pontificates on the need for people to be intentional in searching for appropriate and worthwhile mentorship and professional institutions such as Ingrace Academy to awaken the enormous giants of gifts, and talents lie beneath them that will make them outstanding and contribute greatly to society, accomplish goals and fulfil destinies.

In his words “A lot of young people have made money in movie, music industries and the rest of them, so we have courses that will help and groom them, develop them and make them become the best” he stated.

Amb. John-Nteka who is also a Change Ambassador For Peace And Humanity Award holder (an internationally recognised honour) stressed the need for parents to dutifully recognise areas of interest or strength in their children and guide them accordingly, he said that will enable them to achieve early and maximally than leaving them to contemplate or follow other people’s vision or dreams without prior strength or passion.

Earlier, the Managing Director of the Academy, Amb. (Mrs) Chiamaka John-Nteka while addressing Journalists during the event on the need for the conference, posited that Ingrace Academy is borne out of a desire to fulfil her passion for touching lives by helping people see their greatness, refine their raw gifts and tap their untapped inner resources.

“God put me in a position to groom them, help them and put them in a stead where they can be better and be exactly what He wants them to be and as such use that same talent to serve him”

While admitting that no man is born a failure, Mrs John-Nteka advises people to as a matter of professionalism undertake a study or enrol in the academy to proficiently position themselves competently in the global market given fierce competition.

The MD, therefore use the occasion to call on the Akwa Ibom State government, privileged individuals as well as corporate organisation to partner with the Academy to aid the teeming Nigerian population among others realise their God-given potentials.

Meanwhile, the guest speaker, Moses Armstrong who spoke on The Need To Showcase Talent, The Benefits Of Knowing One’s Talent And Skill And The Main Purpose Of Talents In One’s Life maintained that the need to have a clear understanding of one’s talent and brandish it in the contemporary society cannot be overemphasised in the context of complexity of talents in the world.

while regretting how many people could not harness their God-given talent before they passed on and how some acknowledged their talent very late in life, Mr Armstrong admonished people especially Nigerians to crave the need to discover and put into good use their talent early in life for a prosperous life and fulfilled destinies.

He also used the occasion to advise people not to jump into doing things for the name of it or by people’s opinion but by conviction, joy and contentment.

The Director of SMEDAN, Akwa Ibom State, Lucy Johnson Ekpenyong who spoke on How To Understand The Idea Of Business, How To Come Up With Business Name & Different Types Of Business averred that an intending entrepreneur must first understand the intricacies and how an entrepreneur can fit in, survive and create impact and influence in the challenging business world hence pointing out that Citizen (entrepreneur) Sector is quite different from the business sector.

Consequently, Mrs Iquo Okon who spoke on How To Inspire A Business Idea, Examples Of Business Motivation And Inspiration stressed the need for constant motivation and innovation noting that no business can thrive without frequently initiating new and worthy ideas.

She emphasises the need for an entrepreneur to unfailingly inspires oneself and the people around especially during challenging times, noting that as a creator of new things, difficult times must present themselves quite often to prepare and guide one for the future.

According to her “creating new things often comes with huge challenges that when one is not equipped with much motivation and inspiration may quickly drop by. Thus, you must fashion out ways to stay afloat always regardless, and one of them is motivation”

However, the Chief Executive of Amazing Pot, Miss Aniebiet Frances who spoke on The Importance Of Developing One’s Talent said no joy can equate to the joy of being top on what one does.

Some of the participants called on the State government to partner with the Academy for maximum impact.

Ingrace Talent Academy is the brainchild of Amb. (Mrs) John-Nteka billed to touch people’s lives positively.
