Hon. Odi Omagu, a businessman and an All Progressives Congress,(APC) chieftain has sent his heartfelt condolence message to Senator (Dr) Stephen Adi Odey, the immediate past Chairman of the Cross River State Universal Basic Education, (SUBEB) over the passing away of his father, Chief Odey Mboh.

Hon Omagu in a message to Senator Odey sighted by our reporter stated that the passage of Chief Mboh at the ripe age of 102 years clearly indicates that the deceased was a man who lived with the fear of God, integrity and love towards others which made God grant him such rare grace to live so long.

“Sir, the demise of your father at the age of 102 years is novel. His being able to soar on wings stronger than the eagle to live this long is a testament to the fact that he was truly a man who lived with integrity, fear of God and immense love for his people and above all a man of peace who could face the world without fear.

“We can only say, “as God pleases” who has thought it the right time to call him home at this time”

The philanthropists went further to extol the virtues of Chief Mboh that he was a man who lived with Christian virtues as he was friend and father to all within and outside his family and community.

“I understand that the things that mattered most to him was his absolute love for God, dedication to his people and craved no body’s praise as long as he believed that what he was doing was right and for the good of his community and the people

“He was a father to every child, a friend to every community member, a confidant to every aching heart and a leader everyone could trust”

He asserted that such noble qualities made the Senator’s father to live free from fear of man or even death which even stayed away from him for a long time.

“At a time where people drop dead at young ages , your highly respected father defied the sting of death and only transited home peacefully at a really ripe age. You, your family members and indeed every peace loving person should be proud of such a rare personality” . Hon Omagu wrote

He declared that though the death of a loved one, no matter the age or circumstances behind the person’s death is always an agonising experience, let the memories of the good deeds of his dad always shine bright and beautiful in his heart because his father left behind a great personality like him(Senator Odey) “a man who has seen it all and stands bold like a lion ready to take on the world because your esteemed father bequeathed in you virtues of the love of God and for humanity–a man who sees something good in almost everyone and every situation”.

The message concluded by highlighting the fact that in any generation, there can only be one person at a time like Senator Odeys father, “a star that shines the path of others . As he is laid to rest today let peace continue to reign, let his large shoes not be left bare and his goodwill continue to shine in Uchu and beyond through you and other family members”

He finally comforted Senator Odey by saying, “Sir, as your father is laid to eternal rest on 14th July, 2023, I join your teaming friends, supporters and indeed the rest of the world to say ADIEU, Papa Odey Mboh. may the good Lord continue to look after those you have left behind as beacon of hope for your people and may your soul find rest in the bossom of the lord”
