The Golden Jubilee Scholarship Foundation owned by Cross River State born philanthropist per excellence, Businessman and politician, Chief Barr Chris Agara Agam, has once again impacted the lives of two hundred students of Cross River and neighbouring sister states of Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi, Bayelsa, Delta, and Benue States in it’s 2022/2023 academic session’s Scholarship Scheme for 200 Indigent Students in the University Of Calabar and other higher Institutions.
The scholarship funding worth over N10 million Naira is a yearly programme that was established by the philanthropist in 2013 and run by the Golden Jubilee Scholarship Foundation. The scheme has, since it’s inception, sponsored over 2000 students of Cross River State origin in their educational pursuits. The Foundation relies on the University of Calabar to identify students with financial challenges to benefit from the scheme; irrespective of their origin or political affiliation. This scholarship is in line with Chief Barr. Chris Agara’s philanthropic vision to alleviate poverty and encourage the pursuit of formal education.
Indeed, the philanthropy of Chief Barr Chris Agara Agam is incomparable as the foundation celebrates it’s 10th anniversary of the scholarship scheme. This 10th anniversary edition of the scholarship has paid the total of sum of Ten million, one hundred and Twenty eight thousand, two hundred naira only (N10,128,200. 00). This funds were paid through the University of Calabar to the beneficiaries.
Chief Barr Chris Agara Agam with the Golden Jubilee Foundation is committed to improving the lives and opportunities of indigent students through education. The scholarship is meant to cushion the effects of the cost of education on the average beneficiaries across the States of Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi, Bayelsa, Delta, and Benue.
