Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) Guber Candidate in Cross River, Pst Usani Uguru Usani expressed joy as three out of four of his kidnapped entourage regained freedom after hours in captivity.
The former Minister, of the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, kept praising, praying and thanking God after a horrifying experience at the hands of the dreaded gunmen.
The ugly event happened at about 5 pm along Betem, Calabar-Ikom highway, Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State.

Consequently, four out of eight of his entourage were adopted by the gunmen into the thick bush leading to the forest, the driver was shot in the foot and left bleeding profusely and the car was riddled with bullets.
Some of the belongings were looted including telephones, wallets, and others.
Two men were shot dead in the other vehicle used to avert our car from escaping.
The driver and others are at present receiving medical attention.
Although the cause of the attack is yet to be ascertained, it could be noted that the incident happened hours after Usani left an event organised by Human Rights Commission held at Axari Hotel, Calabar.
