The Labour Party candidate for Ikom/ Boki Federal Constituency, Alvin OCHANG, took his Campaign to the people of Nkpaya, Njemetop in Nta-Nsele, Alok, Nnam and the Mgbaka in Afi-Nde, in Ikom 2, State Constituency.
In his messages to the people, he warned them to be cautious as they cast their votes in the general election, hence to be wary of rogue politicians from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), whom both have mortgage the nation and the people with a combined debt profile of over 77trillion naira, insecurity, disunity, nepotism and no direction.
“In the light of the foregoing, and as we get closer to the general election, I want to sound a note of warning to us, never again, must we believe in the lies of rogue politicians, who will and never keep to their promises to the people. They’re rather a curse to our society than blessing to humanity.
“Their roguery and thievery tendencies is quite unfortunate, alarming and condemnable. It’s on this note that we need not to vote them again and their parties into offices, else, our common destiny and wealth will be gone forever and the future of our children and nation, completely mortgaged.
“They’re no respecters of our laws, have little or no conscience, not interested in our welfare nor security of lives and property. Theirs is only to continually loot the treasury and flaunt their ill gotten wealth on our faces with impunity and without the fear of God.
“This coming elections should be about you, your Communities and the future of the next generations; but the choices are ours to decide. And how do we go about it? It’s simple, go get your permanent voter’s card (PVC’s) and vote for Peter Obi/Datti Baba Ahmed ticket, myself (Alvin OCHANG) and Labour Party candidates across board.
“Labour Party is the only alternative to save us from the quagmire they’ve put us into and Peter Obi, is the only solution for now, judging by his track records, simplicity of life style, capacity to deliver on the job, competency based on assessment, tested and trusted character and integrity, honesty and love for humanity. He’s shown beyond reasonable doubt that he can fix Nigeria, unite her citizens, usher in prosperity and take us from consumption to production.
“And to achieve this daunting task before him, he needs people of like minds and that’s why, I’m putting myself up for service to the people of Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency and I’ve clearly articulated my plans in “My Contract Document 2023, with the People of Ikom/Boki.”
“My representation will be responsive, liberative, and responsible to unite us along our common destiny, provide opportunities for wealth creation and I’ll be supportive in our cause.
“Therefore, the next crop of those to be elected will be the reflection of your votes and choices you make and will inturn give you what you have sown by not voting those with the mentality of entitlement and claims that politics is their farms,” he said.
Defectors in their numbers from the APC and PDP to Labour Party in Mgbaka, Afi-Nde, were received and welcomed by the Labour Party Ikom Chapter Chairman, Hon. Obinya, Christopher, who then directed that they should go register in their Wards and will be officially handed to the State Executive.
The Alvin campaigns and the Labour Party entrance into the 2023 General Elections with Peter Obi/Datti Baba Ahmed ticket have received overwhelming supports from not only the youths, but also their parents and the Traditional Rulers.
