Candidate of the Labour Party for Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency, Mr Alvin Ochang has appealed to the people of Njua Kaku and Borum in Boki local government area of Cross River state to set aside partisan politics, eschew violence during this period of politicking and vote for a candidate that is capable of bringing meaningful development to their communities.

He stated this Tuesday in Boki as he carries his campaign train to the two communities as he seeks their support in the coming election.
While addressing the gathering Mr Ochang noted that the previous administrations have failed completely as no attempt has ever been made to bring in social amenities that will help ameliorate the suffering of the people despite being endowed with abundant natural resources such as Palm Estate, Cocoa, Cassava, Timber amongst others.
According to him “I don’t see any reason why this communities cannot have even a motorable road despite having the palm estate that has been generating a lot of money, cocoa is being transported out of here on a daily basis, felling of trees is still going on here yet you don’t even have a graded road, during rainy season you are completely cut off from the other communities and because of the bad road transportation is so high”.
He challenged them to take their destinies into their hands and try another political party and see if they will not enjoy the dividend of democracy .
He said “Peter Obi the presidential candidate of the Labour Party is not a corrupt politician and want to work with young people who are also corruption free as he would work out modalities that will kick start a new Nigeria so I don’t want you people to be left out when the time comes. Please vote for politicians like Obi and people like us who have other things that we are doing.
I can assure you that we can never fail you otherwise how do you explain a situation where undergraduates will be at home for over eight months over ASUU strike, a bag of rice now sells for over N40,000 even pure water sells for N50 in some places”.
Mr Ochang appealed to them to ensure that they participate in the electoral process, keep the peace, search their conscience and be ready to vote a candidate that will turn things around for them in the forth coming general election.
In a related development the campaign train moved to other communities of Oku-Bushuyu, Bansan, Ogep Osokom all in Boki local government area of Cross River state.
Addressing the huge crowd that gathered to receive the candidate of the Labour Party for Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency, Mr Alvin Ochang who just moved into the business of the day by enjoining them to think about the future of their children who have graduated and are unable to find jobs and make the forth coming general election an election that is very critical to determine their future and that of their children.
He said ” this election is in your hands you can decide to continue in this condition or vote in Labour Party and turn things around for your children and generations yet unborn, for me I have given my self to serve the people, I am working in the banking industry, have businesses every where certainly am not looking for what to eat but want an avenue that I can use to bring in the dividend of democracy to your door steps.”
He prayed that God will help them to make the right choices in the forth coming general elections.
Reacting to his speech the village chiefs, women leaders and youths leaders who spoke on behalf of the communities thanked Mr Ochang for bringing to them the message of hope pointing out that the suffering they are going through is not something they can describe as they pray that God grants him success in the coming election as they express hope that if he eventually wins with their support they are sure he will not forget them like other politicians have done in the past.
