MIDC/UNSDPF DISCUSS DAO PROGRAM EXECUTION, AS C’RIVER LEADS 5 OTHER STATES.

The Cross River State government and the United Nations Sustainable Development Partnership Framework (UNSDPF) are committed to a partnership under a fully-fledged Delivering as One (DaO) for the implementation of UN policy programs in the state.
This collaborative effort will contribute essentially to the achievement of the developmental goals and aspirations of the state which covers the 4th period (2018-2022) in a series of Common Country Programme document sheets produced by the United Nations System in Nigeria.
The collaboration notes achievements, challenges and also prepares recommendations for a 5-year project of the UNSDCF (2023-2027).
In her remarks, Cross River State Commissioner for International Development Cooperation, Dr. Inyang Asibong, commended the UN affiliates’ bodies, noting that the state have over time enjoyed their continued support. The MIDC Boss specially praised the UNFPA Resident Coordinator, Mrs Marija Jokavic for her unalloyed passion for the state.
Dr Asibong intimated that the three focal points of concerns were Governance, Human-Rights, Peace and Security, Equitable Quality Basic Services, and Sustainable, Inclusive, Economic Growth & Development, urging IPs/MDAs to put their best into ensuring that set goals are met.
Speaking also, a representative of the Resident Coordinator’s Office, Mrs. Olugbemji Ayodeyi said the DaO meeting is currently being implemented in five States, with Cross River being ahead of others in terms of planning and execution.
Mrs Ayodeyi, charged partners to present year-end reports as a way forward to achieving the SDGs goals 2030. She also assured of the RC’s commitment to partnering with CRS.
