President Muhammadu Buhari is currently launching the Presidential launch of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), to succeed the Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP) at the Banquet Hall of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja today Tuesday, November 29th, 2022.
RAAMP is being financed by the World Bank and the Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD).
The World Bank and AFD are supporting 19 states Viz Abia, Akwa-Ibom, Bauchi, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Plateau and Sokoto, while AFD will support 6 States which includes Cross River, Benue, Borno, Anambra, Gombe and Taraba States.
President Buhari is represented at the launch by the Governor of Bornu State, His Excellency Prof. Babagana Zulum.
Governor Ben Ayade, ably represented by the Commissioner for International Development Corporation, Dr. Inyang Asibong led the Cross River delegation to the launch. The State delegation is also made up of the Project Coordinator of Cross River RAAMP, Engr Charles Okongor and others.
Present at the launch are Governors of some of the participating states such as Gombe, Imo, Kebbi and Bayelsa States. Deputy Governors of Oyo and Anambra States, Country Directors of the World Bank and AFD including the French Ambassador to Nigeria.
Others are the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, and Minister of FCT.
