It was some treble engagements for Hon. OCHANG Alvin Ochang, the Labour Party (LP) Candidate for Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency for the 2023 General Elections, as he visited Hon. Cletus Ubun, for the interment of his mother-in-law, Late Mrs. Blessing Ashigwure, in Sankwala, Obanliku Local Government Area on condolence.
He thereafter proceeded to Utugwuang for the traditional marriage ceremony of Comrade John Ushie, National President of NUPPPROW and former Cross River State, NLC State Chairman niece, Blessing Alice Ushie and Mr. Michael Usi Ukpong, traditional marriage.
His third and last engagement in a busy itinerary was in his home Ward of Bawop, Boki Local Government Area for a condolence visit to Mr. Christian Ekum, his Ward Coordinator whose mother was interred to mother earth.
Alvin, used the occasions to commiserate with the families of Hon. Ubun and Comrade Ekum for the loses of their mother-in-law and mother and pray for the repose of both souls and urge them to be consoled in the legacies of both women, for according to him, “it’s a journey we all must pass through in our quest for salvation. Death is destiny for all mortals,” he said.
At the home of Comrade Ushie, he congratulated the couples and pray for matrimonial harmony as they begin in the journey of holy matrimony.
“I want to appreciate you for taking the bull by the horn to unite and solemnized your love before your both families, friends and well-wishers and pray God Almighty to bless you both with fruitfulness, joy, happiness and above all love. My advice to young and new couples is always that, you must look up to God for directions and be faithful, tolerance and always be in touch in communication, no matter the circumstances. You must avoid third parties on issues bothering on misunderstandings,” he advised.
He also used the opportunity to advised that both Labour Party and the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) should close ranks and work in unison to provide the alternative government for Nigerians to advance nationhood. According to him, this can only be made possible when we vote Labour Party across board.
“On my part, I have put myself up for service to the good people of Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency, in response to change the poor trajectory. Under my watch, I will be responsible, responsive and provide our people with the needed leadership to advance our cause and humanity,” he concluded.
