The former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) gubernatorial candidate in Cross River State, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani Ph.D. at weekend joined other Nigerians to pay his last respect to Mrs Eni Ebri Asuquo at Kekonkoloh, Aduma, Mkpani, Yakurr local government area.
Accordingly, the late Mrs Asuquo otherwise known as Eka Nelson was born in 1922 to the late Mma Lekam Obla of Akugom, Ijom in Ugep and Etete Mgba Etim Ogbala of Mbono 1, Abanankpai Ward, Nko; all in Yakurr- Cross River State.
The centenarian though could not attend formal education, whereas was skilful in domestic matters as well as farming.
A devout Christian, Mrs Asuquo fulfilled her spiritual obligation of baptism in the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Mkpani Parish.
As a member of the Women Guild, she was known to participate in virtually all church activities and established an unwavering Faith in God. She also made a significant impact as a farmer within her local economy of Mkpani, hence noted as a rich person.
She’s survived by children, steps children, grandchildren, cousins and nephews.
It would be noted that Dr. Usani a relative of the late Eka Nelson was well accepted and accorded all respect as he was seeing relating with his maternal siblings among whom are Obol Ofem Bassey Ebri who is the head of the family.
