The Director General of the Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency (CRSPHCDA), Dr Janet Ekpenyong is seeking for improved support towards the enhancement of yprimary Health Care Services across the 18 Local Government Areas of the State.
Dr Ekpenyong made the appeal during the September edition of the JAAC meeting with Chairmen of Local Government Areas in Cross River State to seek common ground on Grassroots Health Development in the state.
According to her, the bulk of the population residing and earning their fortunes in the rural areas, more concentration should be moved to enhancing the closest source of health service delivery to them in terms of infrastructure, medical supplies and health programmes.
Dr. Ekpenyong said, there is need to bridge the gap between the urban and rural health system, it’s workability and functionality by continually implementing policies that promote and positively affect the people.

She further used the opportunity to brief the Local Government Chairmen of the forth coming measles vaccination campaign for children and other maternal and child health programs coming up within the year as she urged them to project the program with best regards in order to achieve 100% result.
The meeting was on the auspices of the Commissioner, Local Government Affairs, Dr Stella Ekpo , with all 18 Local Government Area Chairmen in attendance.
The Chairmen pledged their continued support for PHC Services as well as providing a conducive working environment for the staffers.
