As the choice of Sen. Kashim Shettima, the Vice Presidential Candidate to Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, standard flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 presidential election continue to generate mixed reactions from across board in the political spectrum of the country, a somewhat buffer and kudos applauding his selection has been added, this time from a young and dynamic supporter of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu presidential campaign.
Mohammed Umar Gunduje, the iconic and progressive campaigner made the assertion on the backdrop of equity, justice and fair play, pointing out that the North-East geo-political zone of the country which Shettima hails from has been contributing immensely in the consolidation of the party, and as such deserved to be given such high profile slot.
The young Ganduje who is a scion and first son of the current Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje also stated that “since Shettima has overwhelming requisite economic and security experience which is bound to benefit the country juxtaposing it’s current socio-economic challenges”
According to him “Its a good development for the country and APC, Shettima has a credible track record and requisite experience going back to his days as governor of Borno state, where he brought to bear his wealth of experiences hence defying all odds to impact meaningfully on the lives of his people”
Speaking further, the young Ganduje averred that the choice of Sen. Shettima as vice presidential candidate and running mate to Bola Ahmed Tinubu has already ignited controversy and causing serious bruohaha within the camps of the opposition parties in the country, while maintaining that Shettima’s choice would certainly and is bound to complement Tinubu’s towering track record.
Asked to speak on youth participation in politics in the country, Mohammed advised youths to thread cautiously as future Leaders and should endeavour to learn from the elderly ones and improve where necessary.
He therefore called on Nigerian youths to ensure that they obtain their Permanent Voter Card (PVC) in order to vote in the right candidates come 2023.
It would be recalled that Mohammed Umar Ganduje made the assertion recently during a media chat at the official unveiling of Sen. Kashim Shettima as the APC Vice Presidential flag bearer held at Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
