The Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, has emerged winner of the Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency in the just concluded Primary Election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with a landslide victory of 75 votes to 21 votes to beat Prince Ntui Ogar.
With this win, Etaba, has created history as the first politician from the Obubra/Etung axis to have won back to back a third consecutive term to continue in the House of Representatives where his currently serving a 2nd Term.
The win was made possible as a result of his capacity, competent in quality representation, accessibility to his constituents and the numerous good works he has brought to bay in the Constituency in both human and capital developments, which undoubtedly, he has carved a niche for himself and in addition of real value to the political ambience of Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency.
His emergence was made possible by a combined efforts of meticulous planning, consensus building, hard work, and indelible track record of service to the people and in particular the putting to rest the civil strife’s and political upheaval of the past.
The Primary’s, as expected, threw up an interesting interplay of variables with each contestant hoping to clinch victory at the end.
In his Post Primary Election Speech to the electorates, Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, expressed his deep gratitude and high regards to all those who made it possible, specifically, he was unreserved in his lavish praise of His Excellency, Senator (Prof.) Ben Ayade, Governor of Cross River State, for giving him the opportunity to serve his people once more.
He equally thanked the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barr. Eba Alphonsus and the entire Executive Committee of the Party for ensuring a level playing ground for all aspirants.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as well as the Security Agencies where not left out in his praises for their dedication to duty and for ensuring that the exercise was hitch free.
In his humility as usual, he was magnanimous in victory as he commended the maturity and conduct displayed by his co-contestant, Prince Ntui Ogar, for accepting defeat, noting that elections were decided by the people’s will and should not be seen as a do or die affair.
Rt. Hon. Etaba’s overwhelming acceptance at the Primary’s is a clear signal for victory, come 2023 in the General Elections as he has promised the people that he will redouble his efforts to do more to all, irrespective of Party, hence, “we are one people under God,” he said.
