The Cross River State government under His Excellency, Professor Ben Ayade has entered into a collaboration with the Agro-Processing, Production Enhancement and Livelihood Support Projects (APPEALS) for the construction of rural roads in the state.
The State Commissioner, Ministry of International Development Corporation (MIDC), Dr Inyang Asibong, who inspected ongoing rural road construction projects in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of the state, said that the state government is committed to opening more communities to prioritize agricultural produce.
Dr Asibong explained that the road project was attracted to the area due to the citing of a poultry farm in the community with a view to ease movement to the poultry farm.
Commending the Ayade led administration in the state and APPEALS over the project, Commissioner Asibong urged the youths of the LGA to support the projects for the growth and development of the community.
The APPEALS Project Engr. Martins Ebreka, said that the road construction, which is 1.123km, would help farmers in the area to convey their produce to the market for sale.
Ebreka said that the project, which has a duration of 10 months, started in March 2022 and is expected to be completed within a considerable time frame, adding that asphalting of the road and construction of the drainage systems will commence soon.
