The Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, Representative of the Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency, has been overwhelmingly endorsed by the Caucus, Leaders, and Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his constituency ahead of the 2023 General Elections
This decision was made possible on Wednesday 11th May, 2022 at the Axari Hotel, Calabar, were Stakeholders converged to x-ray the sterling quality representation and achievements of Rt. Hon. Etaba, to the admiration of his people, whom have vowed to give him another chance to represent them again at the Federal House of Representatives.
Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, in a laden speech full of appreciations, went down memory lane with nostalgia and reminded the people how he started his political sojourn, and opined that, his two tenures have been richly rewarding for the people of Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency in projects that are Community transforming initiatives based; like Schools, Hospitals/Medical Equipment, Grading and Reconstruction of Feeder Roads, Electricity, Pipe Borne Water, Transport facilities, Jobs Creation and Provision that are Pensionable like in the Police Force, Civil Defense etc. and Financial Assistances.
The Obubra Police Station, attained the height of a modern policing department and by far, remains the best in the State, catering for the security needs of the people within and beyond its vicinity.
And I will do more when given another opportunity. Hence, my life is basically service to the people and humanity at large, and have come before you again for service.
Speaking earlier, the Director General of Mike Etaba Campaign Council, Bishop Chris Obasse, in his opening remarks, noted that, the opportunity has yet again heralded a new era of political fortunes for the Obubra/Etung people to come together and foster unity to determine their fate. Hence, to continue on the part of progress and purposeful development devoid of lies and sentiments but based on the workings of the Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, as he gave the synopsis of Etaba’s achievements and contributions at the lower House in the National Assembly. In all modesty of the words, Etaba, has so much distinguished himself amongst his pears and brought honour to us as a people and majority are beneficiaries of his very purposeful driven agenda to better the peoples’ lots.
On this note, he deserves our support for another Term to develop us more infrastructural and human capacity wise. And I must commend and thank you all for the show of solidarity and request we vote enmass for him in the coming General Elections to defeat any opposing candidates.
Other Speakers at the occasion who eulogies the person and qualities of Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba included, Hon. (Chief) Alex Irek, a one-time Minority Leader in the Cross River State of Assembly.
Mr. Johnson Ebokpo, a former Secretary to Cross River State, the current Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Central Senatorial Districts, Hon. Love Agbor, and the incumbent Vice Chairman of Obubra Local Government Council, Hon. (Mrs.) Peace Obeten.
Edidi Okem, was equally not left out in the praises.
They all attested to the many qualities that have endeared the people to Etaba, his simplicity, accessibility, humility, capacity and God fearing nature of Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, and his disposition to service for humanity as rare assets you can find in politicians in our clime and his track records has qualified him to seek re-election from the good people of Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency.
The Stakeholders meeting was well attended with participants ranging from both serving and former local government Chairmen, Ward Executives, State functionaries, Opinion Leaders from across the Communities and well-wishers who have endorsed the Third Term Bid of Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba, in support and solidarity and making his victory assured.
