The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Professor Ivara Esu has commended the Cross River APC Lobby group and Asuquo Ekpenyong on their tour of the 18 local government councils of the state.
He made this known during a consultative visit to him by Asuquo Ekpenyong who visited the deputy governor to consult him of his plans to fly the gubernatorial flag of the APC in the forth coming elections.
“You are the first gubernatorial aspirant to come and consult me. For me it didn’t take me long to predict that you will go very far in your Political sojourn. Whatever you choose to do, you always have my blessings and prayers; the Deputy Governor Stated.
He went further to laud Asuquo Ekpenyong for his Youth Lobby Group advocacy of Voters across the State which witnessed thousands of young people coming out to attend the event. He said at the level of the State Executive Council Asuquo Ekpenyong is the only one to consult for the position. He urged him to continue consulting widely while ensuring he puts God first in everything.
Responding, Mr Asuquo Ekpenyong stated that Ayade’s achievements in the last 7 years speaks volumes and by the grace of God, he has begun to build a continuity plan where no projects or investment is left untouched and no one is left behind.
Ekpenyong described the APC led government in the State as people-driven and that the government of His Excellency, Senator Prof Ben Ayade has done so much even with little or no resources.
“For me, 2023 is not a question of what we will do, it is a matter of what we have done with the mandate given in 2015 and 2019 and how we will sustain it to the benefit of Cross Riverians” he stated.
Ekpenyong narrated his journey and experience as a 24 year old lecturer teaching at the university of Calabar and his time as the founder of several private sector start up companies.
Also speaking, His Excellency, Etubom Nya Asuquo Eyoma disclosed that Asuquo Ekpenyong is a young man who has the energy and zeal to keep building on the successes of the present administration.
‘I believe you can trust me again as you have done before. Please give him the needed Support and be rest assured of continuity; The former Ambassador of Nigeria to Uganda quipped.
Archbishop (Hon) Christian Achor Agbor, (immediate past member representing Etung at the Cross River State House of Assembly) commended the Deputy Governor for opening his door for team Asuquo Ekpenyong which had come to consult and seek blessings from him. He said he was convinced that Asuquo will deliver further dividends of democracy to Cross River State and as such will ask for his total support going forward.
“You are a very wonderful astute administrator with 100 percent interest on the developmental strides of the State. Be rest assured that Asuquo Ekpenyong would continue from where you stopped. He added.
