The Deputy Speaker,Adamawa State House of Assembly Rt Hon. Pwamwakaino Makonbo on Saturday express joy over the local council election held across the the 21 local government areas of the State.
His expression was made known during an interview with journalists at Shafam 008 Polling Unit , Imburu Primary School, Imburu Ward Numan Local Government Area.
“As you can see the people are full of joy having waited patiently for this day and have indeed come out to exercise their franchise by electing Chairmen and Councillors that will work for their benefit hence usher in the needed democratic dividends to them”
Speaking on logistics and the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission; the parliamentarian maintained that everything went well and perfectly.
He also compliment the security agents despatched to different polling units positing that their civility and professionalism was equal to known.
“The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has done a good job by availing the materials early and on time. Also,I want to appreciate the security agents that have made it comfortable for us to cast our votes in a peaceful environment” he stated.
He therefore called on the youths all over the country to desist from antisocial behaviour and Chanel their energy in lucrative ventures.
The legislator representing Numan State Constituency at the State House of Assembly averred that he was positive his party,the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) will emerge victorious at all the polling units across the 21 local councils areas in the State.
“I’m very optimistic that my party will emerge victorious at the end of the day at all level”
Speaking on how he is being loved by his people, the parliamentarian said “it is all about how you’re close to your people,how you listen to their cries and pains,how you handle their affairs; that’s why they love me”
On the area of his political future,Rt Hon Makonbo while acknowledging that it belongs to God,also said he was optimistic he will still contest the State House of Assembly and “I’m sure I’ll win”he affirmed.
