The Special Adviser to the Governor of Jigawa State on Solar Mega Projects, Hon. Ibrahim Suleiman Gwiwa on Saturday disclosed that the All Progressives Congress(APC) will be more united after the national convention against naysayers that believed otherwise.
Hon. Gwiwa made the disclosure while addressing journalists at the Eagle Square,venue of the APC national convention.
“People believe that our party will break up or have a lot of challenges after the convention, but I tell you we’re going to grow more stronger and united after the convention. APC no doubt is the biggest party in Africa and the most democratic one at that,so people have the rights to say things,but as a member of the party we’ll come out more stronger”
Speaking on the issue of consensus candidate,Hon. Gwiwa maintained that every political party have a way of managing its affairs noting that if the leaders of the party see consensus as the best way that will cause the party less harm,then members will follow so as to usher in acceptable executives that will be embrace by all.
“Every political party have their own way of managing their affairs so that there will be less crises. I think that’s why in the wisdom of our leaders thought it will be better to go the way of consensus. So I agree with whatever is their position”
The All Progressives Congress chieftain said the party is the only political party in Nigeria that has the capacity to enshrine the true tenets of democracy and a competent roadmap to providing the needed Democratic dividends to Nigerians.
According to Gwiwa”we are here today to elect our leaders that will pilot the affairs of our party for the next four years. I’m very confident we will at the end elect competent people that have the capacity to lead not only the party but to enshrine the tenets of Democratic ideals that will offer Nigerians relief and good governance.
” as a politician I will comfortably tell you that the APC is the only political party that has the welfare of Nigerians at heart and is working tenaciously to providing the needed Democratic dividends to our people” he averred.
Asked who was his preferred candidate for the National Chairman position, Gwiwa said the State was right behind their governor, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubaka and are ready to follow their leader whose decision is to vote the former Governor of Nasarawa State, Abullahi Adamu.
“The decision of our Governor, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubaka is our decision and we’re ready to do that which we’re asked to do. The instruction is to vote Abdullahi Adamu as Chairman and other positions”
On the issue of supposed litigations after the Convention, Gwiwa posited that there is no political party as big as APC that will not have issues at one point or the other but the good thing is the party has its internal mechanism to resolving all issues. And “I’m very confident that the party is capable of resolving all internal and external fracas no matter how big they are”
“So whatever other political parties are insinuating and hoping is their own issue, they will be surprise when we’re done and all issues resolve”
The national convention that started on Saturday 26th day of March ended early Sunday morning with Abdullahi Adamu emerge national Chairman, Dr Betta Edu as National Women leader and others.
