A former member representing ABI/Yakurr Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Bassey Eko Ewa has expressed his appreciation to the people of Ogoja for keeping faith and believing in PDP. He made these declaration on the trail of Senator Gershom Bassey, consultation in Northern Senatorial District.
Rt Hon Bassey Ewa said, “I have come to thank all my mentors in Ogoja today for keeping faith with PDP. They were there at the beginning of PDP and they are still here. No wonder my friend, Distinguished Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe is performing the way he is because he has this powerful father’s behind him. My joy is that all the leaders of Ogoja sitting here were part of all the decisions we took on rotation of power.
“I’m sure they too will not want us to make the mistake of jettisoning the rotation. We can not afford to have another dancing Professor in Government House. And so I have come to tell you about Sen Gershom Bassey, who is running for office as Governor.
“We all agreed to move the governor to North in the spirit of equity and fairness and even some of the people against zoning now we’re also part of that accord. PDP has always won elections because we kept faith with zoning.
“We have a man with a good heart, a man who is a neighbor, a man who is your friend and brother, a man who related with the old and young, a man who was the engine room of the Duke and Imoke successful administration and that man is Sen Gershom Henry Bassey.
“We the leaders in Central Senatorial District have decided that power must go to the South, so we are not part of those coming from Labour party or APC to spoil our accord.
“The man who is tested and trusted, Sen. Gershom Henry Bassey, is that man for Governor CRS in 2023,” he concluded.
