Senator Gershom Bassey, has promised the Cross River State Youths a comprehensive inclusion in his Government when elected as Governor in 2023 as he received in audience the Executives Council Members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in his Abuja office.
In his interaction he said, “I hold the Youths in high esteem and that’s why, I started my gubernatorial consultation with the Youths. I believe in the youths as custodian of the future and will give them every opportunity to champion their course and build on the foundation that will be laid by my Administration for a better and prosperous Cross River State of our dreams.”
“As you are aware, I have done so much in terms of empowerment of individuals and providing infrastructures to communities across the State without making noise. Hence, not in my character and in accordance with biblical injunction of not letting the other hand know what has been done to the other.
“I will support with funds to make sure that your Secretariat is completed in due time to facilitate smart thinking and objective decision making that will be beneficial to the State and your well being.”
In his response, Comrade Dan Obo Jnr, Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Cross River State Chapter, thanked the Distinguished Senator for acknowledging and prioritizing the needs of Students and Youths in the State, as he maintain the position and declare support for the Back2South Agenda for the purpose of tranquility, equity and justice for peace as tradition of the peace loving people of Cross River State.”
Council Members in attendance include, Hon. Gideon Mbukpa, Speaker of Cross River State Youth Parliament, who passed a vote of confidence on Senator Gershom Henry Bassey, and urged him to pursue his gubernatorial intention for the purpose of posterity of Cross River State.
