The APC Cross River State Youth Summit is scheduled to hold on 19 February, 2022 at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar, according to the Chairman of Local Organising Committee (LOC), Mr. Oden Ewa, during a Press briefing earlier today at the Channel View Hotel.
According to Mr. Ewa, the state Lobby Group of the APC is primarily to promote youth all inclusiveness in governance and this has been made possible with the domestication in Cross River precisely two weeks ago by the APC National.
He said, ” We have the mandate to organise over 30,000 mega rally on February 19, at the U.J. Esuene Stadium.
” We shall thereafter embark on a door to door advocacy to solicit for more inclusion of youths in governance from our elders.”
The relevance of youths in governance is been made possible by Governor Ben Ayade and as such, we must say a big thank you to His Excellency for his faith and trust in the youths of Cross River State, hence, to assure him that we’ve under studied him and know what good governance is and will be ready to showcase this come 2023.
He also thanked Barr. Alphonsus Ogar Eba, and his State Executives for their support.
Speaking further he said, “Participants for the summit shall be drawn from all the 196 Council Wards in the State. It will be a carnival of sort, meant to galvanise support for youths across the State and beyond the boundaries of Party and rhetorics. Modalities that has been put on ground, are innovative to achieve our goal,” he said.

On her part, Dr. Janet Ekpenyong, Director General, Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency (CRSPHCDA) said, “the summit is to appreciate the governor who has been a he and she youth friendly. It will avail us the opportunity to galvanise more support for the Youths to take up leadership positions in the State, because it is time to be involved.”
The Organisers of the Summit are youths in governance, as well as others from different works of life, who have impacted positively over the years in state affairs and national engagement in all human endeavours.
In attendance also was the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Cross River State, Hon. Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr. and other members of the Committee.
