Youths under the ages of “Nka Unwana Odukpani” have honoured the Director General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Janet Ekpenyong for her outstanding contributions towards Community Development and youths empowerment in the Local Government Area.
The youths who paid her a courtesy visit in her office described her as “selfless and humane” and one whose leadership is being felt by the low and lonely through her dedicated work approach and her all encompassing characteristics.
Speaking on behalf of other members and chairman of the group, Engineer Abasi Ekpenyong Ndaraka applauded Governor Ben Ayade for the honour done on Odukpani Local Government Area for appointing their daughter into such “sensitive and fragile” position.
He said, with over 70% of the state’s population frequent the Primary Healthcare Centres, there was no better choice but a well learned, trained , disciplined and pragmatic executive than Dr Janet Ekpenyong.
He urged her to continue to key into Community and human capital Development noting that, the impact of her previous actions have contributed immensely into the peace, harmony and cohabitation in Eniong Abatim and other Communities.
“We are aware of the numerous scholarship offered to primary and secondary students in Eniong and other Communities, the free Educational materials and other logistics you have facilitated as well, today, some many children are back to school and they are utilizing those materials.
All these may not have been possible if the governor had not appointed such a vibrant, Educated and passionate personike you to head the Primary Healthcare Agency where almost 70% of the total population run to for medical check up.
We want to encourage you to continue with the good work as we will continue to support you to ensure you succeed beyond your expectations”.
Receiving the award , Director General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Janet Ekpenyong appreciated the group for finding her worthy of such honour , as she said, the unity displayed by the youth has shown great progress in the unification of Odukpani Local Government Area and Cross River State as a whole .
She thanked Governor Ben Ayade for the privilege to serve as she promised to broaden her reach to ensure that , more individuals especially in rural Communities enjoy the impact of Government.
She encouraged the youths to join in the Advocacy for mass vaccination and the observant of Covid-19 preventive protocols wherever they find themselves.
The ” Nka Unwana Odukpani ” forum is a socio-cultural group made up of young professionals from all works of life, including medical Doctors, Engineers, Artists, Scientists and other learned fellows who are committed to development of Odukpani Local Government Area.
