I wish to place on record my profound gratitude to my Party, the Peoples Democratic Party, for providing a Platform for me to be nominated to fill the exalted position of the National Woman Leader, for the October 2021 National Party Elective Convention.
I am filled with joy. I do not want to betray emotions in recognition of those whom the Lord had used in choosing me, out of many qualified female personages Cross River State had produced.
The Consensus Spirit has always been with us as a very close PDP family. It is a manifestation of the formidable bond amongst us in the PDP enclave, as it exists in Cross River State today, under the distinguished leadership of H.E Senator Liyel Imoke, immediate past Governor of Cross River State and H. E Mr. Donald Duke, the former Governor of our dear State.
These two great leaders were the original Conveners of the Party in the beginning. Both men have graciously re-dedicated their efforts to provide a formidable platform to move Cross River State PDP foward. I deeply appreciate the two former Governors for their leadership roles in arriving at this Concensus and in moving the Party forward.
I cannot but sincerely appreciate the collaborative effort of all our National Assembly Members (Sen. Gershom Bassey, Sen. Sandy Onor, Sen. Jarigbe and our House of Reps members), our former Deputy Governor H.E Barr Efiok Cobham, the new State Party Chairman, Mr Venatius Ikem and the PDP State Executive, all the Caucus members of our great Party, other Stakeholders and indeed PDP members across board. I say thank you to all of you.
I will like to recognise the wife of the leader of our Party, Barr Mrs Obioma Liyel Imoke, who incidentally is a formidable member of our great Party and a great mobilizer and motivator of women, especially Cross River State Women. She played a great role in bringing unity amongst Cross River Women and even amongst us the female Aspirants. I appreciate you, Your Excellency.
May I specially appreciate the two wonderful ladies who aspired, along with me, for the position of the PDP National Woman Leader, namely Chief Amina Divine Arong and Mrs Nella Andem – Ewa.
These are indeed women of substance that have contributed to the growth of PDP in Cross River State.
I wish to let these great ladies to know that in the race for the position of the PDP National Woman Leader, there is no Victor and no Vanquished.
We are all winners and great ladies striving to contribute our quotas towards the upliftment and sustenance of our great Party. I call upon my two lovely sisters to join hands with me in working towards enhancing the role and status of PDP women in particular and Nigerian women in general.
Let me assure you all that my appreciation will show better in my loyalty to our cause in the discharge of my duties with fair play to make you justify the confidence you have reposed in me.
