One of Obanliku’s greatest philanthropists and the CEO of Akpanke Foundation, Mr. Peter Akpanke, has donated learning materials and given scholarships to Secondary School Students to mark Obanliku at 30 and the New Yam Festival.
In commemoration of the auspicious occasion of the LGA’s 30th anniversary cum new yam festival, Mr Akpanke admonished the people to always remain prayerful and embrace an atmosphere of decorum, peace, unity and harmony throughout the course of the celebration and even beyond.
The occasion, which serves as the trademark of the Obanliku nation was indeed a colourful one as it assembled together sons and daughters of Obanliku. Other activities carried out vis-a-vis the celebration included but was not restricted to the following; presentation of awards to the best yam farmer, best cultural dance group and a plethora of other activities.
In appreciation, the Paramount Ruler, who received the gifts, lauded Mr Akpanke for his continuous care and concern towards his people stating that the community and people are indeed proud to have an illustrious son like him.
LONG LIVE THE AKPANKE FOUNDATION!!
LONG LIVE OBANLIKU LGA.
LONG LIVE CROSS RIVER STATE.
