DR JANET EKPENYONG, CHARGES SOCIAL MOBILISATION OFFICERS TO DISSEMINATE ACCURATE INFORMATION ON THE IMPORTANCE OF COVID-19 VACCINES.

Ahead of the proposed flag-off and the  administration of the Covid19 Vaccines to Nigerians, the Director General  of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Janet Ekpenyong has charged Social Mobilization Officers (SMOs) across the state  to send out accurate messages on the importance of the Covid-19 Vaccines as well as other health services.
The DG made the call when she played host to the Forum of Social Mobilization Officers in the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency who paid her  a courtesy visit and to Congratulte her and the agyency for the numerous  achievements of 2020 as well as the recent ranking of Cross River State among top immunization Program implementers in the country.
Dr Ekpenyong who described by the Mobilization Officers as the mouthpieces of the Agency, urged them to continue to build their capacities and adopt new and perculiar strategies which will help in the actualization of various health interventions in their respective Local Government Areas especially as the Federal Government is set to roll out Covid-19 vaccines to states
She emphasized that, as trusted and reliable informants in their respective LGAs, misinformation or poorly sent messages on Covid19 will hamper full compliance rate with so many already nursing wrong notions about the Vaccines.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Mrs Nsa Ekpenyong (State Social Mobilization officer) , thanked the Director General for her proactive nature and opportunities granted members of the union to domesticate interventions in ways best perculiar to their LGAs
She further pledged the desire of members of the forum to carry out research on both  Covid19 and other health, to ensure that Cross Riverians enjoy , quality, affordable and accessible healthcare.
Among those who came around were social mobilization officers of Bakassi, Calabar Municipal,Calabar South , Akpabuyo, Akamkpa among others.
