The 11th and substantive Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Banku Obi has hit the ground running by shuffling personnel as she makes new appointments into key administrative positions.
The latest appointments conveyed in separate letters signed by the University Registrar, Mr. Gabriel O. Egbe, dated 2nd December, 2020, shows that Prof. Ajayi C. Omoogun of the Department of Curriculum & Teaching has been appointed Director of Academic Planning while Prof. Eucharia N. Nwagbara of the Dept. of Sociology is now Director, Institute of Public Policy and Administration.
In the same vein, Assoc. Prof. Tony Eyang of English & Literary Studies is the new Dean of Students, Prof. Christine Ikpeme of Food Technology is now Director, Entrepreneurship Development Center (EDC), Prof. Ojua Takim Asu of Sociology is now Director, Centre for Educational Services (CES), Prof. Atim Asitok of Microbiology becomes Director, Pre-Degree, and Prof. Francisca Bassey is now Director, GSS.
Their appointments will be for an initial period of two years with effect from 1st December, 2020, even as the Vice Chancellor is hopeful that they will bring their wealth of experience to bear in pursuit of the overall vision of the present administration.
